Light of Battle Tales of the Citadel Book 16 eBook Viola Grace
I liked this story for it wasn't about the romance between partners but about accepting each other despite who they are or what their faults are. I thought Jiska had a cool talent, the ability to render who ever saw the light in her eyes unconscious. This went a long way as far as keeping the causualties low in battle and quite the defensive weapon as well. Deskin is a truthseer and works as a negotiator for the Citadel and is partnered with Jiska with her being his bodyguard. He has quite a personality and some secrets that could be disturbing for Jiska. I love how he chipped away at her hard military exterior to get to the young woman underneath. We all carry walls around us at some point or another and it takes a special person to be able to give you the ability to bring the walls down and Deskin was just the guy for Jiska to allow herself to do just that. This was an interesting story and the characters were well developed. The story may not have had cool physical talents but I don't think it was really about the talents to begin with. The story was about the characters evolving into who they really were and not who others wanted them to be.Product details

Light of Battle Tales of the Citadel Book 16 eBook Viola Grace Reviews
this is book of a soldier coming home and having to find where she fits in a world that no longer thinks it needs her. of finding a place and love to call her own
Best ever
Good story. Too expensive. Novellas should cost less.
Young, talented and female leads the armies and is forced into retirement, so what to do now? She takes the next best option and gets on with her life. Good read.
This is a very well drawn Science Fiction Romance short story featuring a heroine who is learning to be more of herself after decades of war. A general since she was a child, with the war over she must find a new purpose. The hero is not always charming but he loves the heroine. A good tale of love and growth with great world building.
I love ms grace. I continue to buy her books although they are priced way to high for the size. This is the first time i regreted buying her book. I was looking forwARd to the heroine kicking butt. But her power is boring. But even worse i never felt the romance or heat between h/h which is what i aways got from ms grace. Short but really hot. I didnt feel the love or even the like with these two. And the twist in the end was pointless to me. Try some of her other books but this is a miss.
